About the Job

EverTrust Legal is looking for a dedicated full time Associate committed to building a long-term career in litigation with the firm in our Mumbai Office.

Eligibility

  • Mumbai based candidates only.
  • Minimum 1 year post qualification litigation experience or law graduates with prior internship experience in litigation/ dispute resolution.
  • Women returning to practice after a career break are welcome to apply.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Strong exposure and experience of drafting litigation pleadings, contracts etc. and ability to proficiency in Microsoft Office and particularly, Microsoft Word and formatting of documents.
  • Ability to effectively research case laws and operate research platforms (Manupatra, SCC online, etc.) smoothly.
  • Someone who is comfortable traveling to different Courts, forums, offices, etc. all over Mumbai.
  • A self-starter who takes ownership of matters end-to-end – from research and drafting to appearances and client coordination.
  • The role is best suited for individuals looking for practical exposure, responsibility and long-term growth, rather than a short-term stint.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research.
  • Draft litigation pleadings – applications, notices, writs, suits, replies, rejoinders, complaints, contracts etc.
  • Appear in Courts and forums all over Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane – High Court of Bombay, JMFC Courts, Civil Courts, NCLT, etc.
  • Assist the insurance team in assessment of cases and drafting of complaints.
  • Assist the team in ancillary litigation processes – execution, filing, etc.
  • Aid in case preparation and organization for court proceedings.
  • Attend client meetings.
  • Assist with contract and document review.
  • Provide general administrative support to the team as and when required.
  • Coordinate with clients, advocates, counsels, etc.
  • Ensure timely compliance with Court deadlines, filings etc.

Work Arrangement (Transition Period)

We are in the process of moving to a larger office – estimated timeline is 6 to 12 months. During this period, the role is work-from-home.

The Associate will have to travel directly from home to Courts, forums, or client meetings as required, and complete the remainder of the day’s work from home.

Post-transition, the Associate will be expected to report to the Andheri West office as and when required by the team.

Probation Period

3 – 6 months from date of joining, depending on performance.

Salary/Remuneration

INR 15,000/- per month during probation and INR 20,000/- per month upon completion of probation, and subject to confirmation post-probation period. Out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed at actuals.
